How to competently select and implement a project with VIDEX LED strips
Criteria for selecting tapes:
- Goal → Decorative / Background / Main light?
- Location → Dry room / Wet area / Outdoor?
- Budget → Minimum / Optimal / Premium?
- Color → Static (warm) / Static (white) / Static (daytime)?
- Power supply → Is there a power supply? A stable system is required?
Formula for a light project on an LED strip
Brightness (Lm/m) × length (m) = total luminous flux (Lm)
General Lm ÷ 100 = equivalent lamp in watts (W)
Power and power supply:
- Calculate the power of the belt (W/m × length).
- Add 20–30% stock.
- Select the required power supply unit.
- Do not use sockets directly — only through a controller or driver.
Installation tips
- Do not cut the tape randomly, but only along the special markings. Otherwise — ruin the tape.
- Do not extend the power supply beyond 5 m on a single line — Next come losses and voltage drops. Supply power from both ends
